Collaboration With Spookton Brew Co.
Tomorrow’s Women are pleased to announce that we have collaborated with Spookton Brew Co. to make a charity beer.
Based in Saint Thomas Pathway, off Queen St in Chester, Spookton Brew Co. produces charity beers whereby 5p per pint or can sold goes to supporting local charities. Jon from Spookton agreed to create one for TW, resulting in “Aspirational Kickflip” which is a hoppy, hazy and juicy pale ale.
Jon began as a home brewer before lockdown. Following success, Spookton moved into their own premises in Chester which they have made into a tap room. They are currently Cuckoo brewing at Farm Yard Brew Co in Lancaster; brewing beer at a different site, but are set to begin onsite brewing this week. When asked what inspired the name for the company, Jon admitted it being named after a city he had created in the game “Cities: Skylines” and nothing to do with Halloween or ghosts!
Jon is passionate about working with charities, keeping funds within the local community. We are thrilled that he chose to work with Tomorrow’s Women as all funds raised will go a long way in helping us support women in the local area.
CEO Karen and Marketing & Comms Lead Kate visited Jon at Spookton, and despite only being there for 6 weeks the building is fantastic and has a fun vibe. The space is a good size for events and even weddings, and there is potential for an outdoor seating space which would be perfect for the summer.
Speaking to Jon, he told us his first beer was called Imposter Syndrome which mirrors the way he felt when setting up his own brewery. However, due to the support he has gotten from the local community, he wants to give back to organisations like ourselves.
Another way in which Spookton supports Tomorrow’s Women is by offering employment and training opportunities, something one of our placement students at our Chester centre has already benefited from. Jon offers full training in all aspects of the brewery and welcomes people to come along for a shift during events. This fantastic opportunity provides people with invaluable skills and socialisation whilst also earning some money.
We are so excited for this new collaboration and are so grateful to Spookton Brew Co. for working with us. As a charity, all funds raised go towards supporting women to make positive lifestyle changes.
