A Year to Remember! 2019 for Tomorrow's Women.

As we near the end of what has been an outstanding year for Tomorrow's Women Wirral, we reflect on all of our achievements and good news stories to take strides of pride into 2020!

We've had another fantastic year here at TWW, with a record number of 1836 new women registering at the centre bringing our total referrals to a staggering 8368 which means we are reaching and supporting more women than ever before, achieving our goals as a women's centre supporting women.

In order to help and support the women who come through our doors, we've expanded our support areas hugely this year. With many new in-house delivered courses covering issues including child on parent abuse, self harm & bereavement, as well as our local Wirral partner agency circle climbing up to over 190, who deliver a variety of courses, support sessions & specialisms, our monthly timetable offer has, and will, continue to grow and improve. (You can see our monthly timetables here https://www.tomorrowswomen.org.uk/whats-on/monthly-timetables)

An unforgettable stand out moment for TWW in 2019 was our very special Royal Visit on January 14th, in which we were honoured to be visited by both the Duke & Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan respectively, during their Birkenhead tour. This was a huge honour for our women's charity with women's issues & rights at the heart of Meghan's activisms, as well as for the many women who access the centre that met with the pair on the day. This monumental visit will go down in TWW history, as one that brought joy, pride and great attention to our work, that was followed by wider audiences, media coverage and even an invitation to the Queen's Royal Garden Party, nonetheless!

Continuing with our 2019 success, our treasured community garden at TWW was awarded an 'Outstanding' in this year's Horticultural Society Northwest Britain in Bloom competition, being described as "the perfect oasis in Birkenhead"! And plenty more where that came from, our own Chief Executive Angela Murphy was shortlisted, and awarded a Certificate of Excellence for, the Inclusive Companies Chief Executive of the Year award 2019, a hugely proud moment for the charity and it's leader, and a great national level recognition for the hard work Angela has, and will continue, to do within women's services.

"TWW had the most fabulous start to 2019 in receiving a visit from Prince Harry & Meghan which widened our connections with audiences worldwide. The continued growth throughout the year resulted in TWW receiving more than any previous years increase of new referrals with now 8368 women signed up as members who can use TWW as often as they wish for support.

Special mention to our Team of loyal employees, volunteers and helpers who have consistently supported women throughout the year, which has resulted in excellent outcomes.

Without funders however, TWW would not exist and I want to make a special mention to those funders who believe in the work we do and have funded us throughout this year:

Big Lottery

Merseyside CRC

Steve Morgan Foundation

Wirral Council

John Moores Foundation

& more recently, European Social Fund

TWW has well and truly proved itself within the community, saving the Wirral Public Purse thousands of pounds each year. TWW is a necessity and the positive comments, reviews and case studies received are testament to this. 2020 will be our 9th year and our intention for the next decade is to keep on progressing and positively affecting lives to ensure women have opportunities afforded to them to continue to improve and achieve, no matter what their history has been.

Best wishes for a happy, healthy, empowering New Year."
