Following Tomorrow's Women's highly anticipated Royal Visit from Their Royal Highnesses Duke and Duchess of Sussex back in January, four representatives from our award winning charity organisation were royally invited to attend the first of this summer's three annual Royal Garden Parties.
Royal Garden Parties have been held since the 1860s in Buckingham Palace and over 150 years later are now held to recognise public service and celebrate a whole network of individuals and organisations on a strictly invite-only basis.
Each representing a different element of our organisation, our four representatives are pictured below:
LR: Sharna Kennedy, Maureen Morgan, Maureen Thompson, Zoe Cranshaw.
Sadly Her Majesty The Queen was not in attendance, but Their Royal Highnesses Duke and Duchess of Cornwall Charles and Camilla and Anne, Princess Royal were certainly worthy hosts in her place. With the Royals in toe, delicious food bites to enjoy leisurely, beautiful scenery and thousands of other worthy guests to share the glorious day with, it certainly was a meaningful and memorable day for all involved.
Comms Officer Sharna who was invited to represent the staff team of TW had this to say.
"What an absolute privilege to be chosen to represent our amazing charity organisation at the one and only Buckingham Palace. It was a pivotal point in my own career that I won't be in any rush to forget, and a proud moment for Tomorrow's Women to be recognized so widely and highly".
We may not have a palace, but our community centre certainly scrubs up nicely and is a vibrant, colourful and inviting safe space for all women 18+. You can now have a look at our 3D Virtual Tour made by local media company Hi-Impact to familiarise yourself with our centre and facilities at your own leisure.
