We are still reeling from our International Women's Day event on 8th March (sponsored by Body Shop UK), where we held our own celebration with local organisations, speakers and over 150 women, it was bigger and better than ever! Read for more on our fabulous day...
Each year we celebrate International Women's Day (IWD) as a female only charity that empowers and supports women all year round. We come together with women old and new to us and celebrate the achievements, journies and changes of those we work with, the wider community and the world!
With the '#BalanceForBetter' theme at the focus of this year's IWD we acknowledged the journey ahead and encouraged the women in the room to keep fighting for gender balance. But we also celebrated the balance that we promote within Tomorrow's Women in equal rights for women, fairer opportunities, highlighting our female team and CEO & Chair!
We received a civic visit from our Mayoress of Wirral and welcomed Guest Speakers: Dame Lorna Muirhead (Midwife, ex-Lord Leiutenant of Merseyside and TWW Patron), Katie Walker (Domestic Abuse survivor, victim advocate and founder of Katie Cares) and Julie Waring (Domestic Abuse specialist at Morecrofts Solicitors and Northern Power Woman) each bringing unique and inspirational stories of resilience, strength, strong-will and female empowerment.

With Empowerment Awards for those who have gone above and beyond in our centre, and our first ever Poetry Competition winning announcement (Patience - written and entered by one of our own women here at TWW) the celebrations were for and with those women who come to our centre and are brave enough to make positive changes in their lives to better themselves and the world they live in.
We look forward to our next IWD event, but have plenty more where that came from in the meantime!
