On Wednesday 2nd August 2017 we held our first TWW Volunteers Workshop, inviting local women to our centre to talk about how they could give back to their community.
The purpose of this workshop is to discuss volunteering opportunities within the centre and also for women to showcase their skills – let us know what they could bring to our centre!
The event was well attended with over 20 women showing interest. After watching a short video and presentation on Tomorrow's Women, the women did some Laughter Therapy with our Empowerment Advisor Caroline - talk about thrown in at the deep end! (Pictured below).
We are a small charity and as such, we rely on hard-working and dedicated volunteers! We're also a busy centre, so our volunteers must adapt to an often fast-paced environment and muck in when they're needed!
This was our first session of many Volunteer Workshops and the response was great! We're always on the lookout for volunteers with different skills, experience and ideas to help our centre continue to flourish! Maybe you're good with computers, or maybe kitchen assistant is more your forte - whatever your background there's bound to be a voluntary role for you here at TWW!
