TWW rocks Be In birkenhead Festival!
On Wednesday 26th July 2017, Tomorrow's Women Wirral attended the 2nd Be In Birkenhead Festival, organised by Birkenhead First.
After the roaring success of last year's festival, this year's unfortunate weather threatened to cancel the event - but that didn't stop us! This year, visitors were able to board Wirral Transport Museum’s lovingly restored vintage buses – the ‘Birkenhead Blues’ – and enjoy summer refreshments on the Square. There were also children’s rides, craft stalls, Punch & Judy, face painting and more.
Amongst the hubbub, Tomorrow's Women held a stall where some of our fantastic volunteers offered information and advice about TWW, as well as selling crafts, bric-a-brac and holding a raffle!
The event was opened by the Mayor of Wirral, Anne Machlachlan, who posed for a picture with our vounteers and even purchased a TWW supporter's badge (pictured below!)
The event was a great success with lots of visitors to the festival which took place in the heart of Hamilton Square. Wirral Radio hosted live broadcasts during the day, while craft and vintage stalls offered scented candles, cosmetics, hand-made jewellery, and antiques. We can't wait until the next one!
